Rosa - I couldn't agree with you more. Often, customer service starts with the customer. What I mean is, smile, be positive, look/listen for a name and use the customer service person's name throughout your experience, and always say thank you for whatever it is you get from the person providing the service. And smile again. I almost always get better service than my friends because I make the person providing my experience want to be nice to me because I am nice to them. Simple enough if you ask me. Not fool-proof, yet most often, it works. Great post!

You know Phil, I can just imagine your cheerfulness as a customer, I'll bet it comes very naturally to you, just as it does for Kerwin.
I will admit that I personally must work harder at it, especially in taking the high road and leading with kindness when I encounter a service provider who is already having a junky day and it shows. I'm always grateful that my husband continually gives me great examples to learn from.
