Thank you so much for clicking in.
You have arrived at the web-based home of workplace Aloha coach Rosa Say. My company is dedicated to bringing the values of Aloha to the work we all do, and I work with businesses ready to value-reinvent their organizational culture as a vital strategic strengthening, and with individuals seeking Ho‘ohana coaching.
Ho‘ohana is my driving force, the cool and sexy stuff of my visions for our future: It is the Hawaiian value of worthwhile work. Yes, WORK. I think work is vastly underestimated as the creative shaper and art form it can be for you, so I founded SLC to prove it. If you want your life to be remarkable, reinventing your approach with the work you do is your golden ticket.
My mana‘o and philosophy
My own Ho‘ohana specialty is in the coaching of best-possible management and leadership, and at SLC we simultaneously work on business model profitability and Aloha livelihood. I believe that great management matters in healthy workplace cultures, and that leadership creates hope and larger possibility.
No one works alone, not even self-employed solo entrepreneurs and freelancers: The partnerships they create are crucial, and better relationships fuel their success. The Lōkahi team model I will teach you gets everyone in a company involved quickly and effectively, shifting any busy-work productivity to stress-free high performance, and it promotes the importance of Kākou “language of we” communication in all your partnerships.
My favorite presentation is one I call Values, Verbs, Vitality and Your Verve: Managing and leading are verbs ALL managers employ, and self-management and self-leadership are individual responsibilities EVERYONE in a healthy workplace culture will commit to for the optimal health of any business model.
How we work together
Skim over that navigation column to the left (but don’t click on anything just yet): There’s a lot here, I know.
For the quickest overview of what we do, I’d suggest you start with this page: How would we work together? As I explain there in more detail, we’re a six-year old company, but in another way we’re brand new, and our flexibility and commitment to serving the Alaka‘i Manager in whatever way it takes is something I am very proud of.
We’re stubborn that way. I’m the author of Managing with Aloha, Bringing Hawai‘i’s Universal Values to the Art of Business, and I originally wrote it in 2003 as a mid-level manager’s resource. It is still published as a hard-cover with super-wide margins and extra note pages because we use my book as a textbook. It’s a fairly easy and quick read the first time through, but it’s not a summer beach read: It was specifically designed to be your professional companion, and to help you achieve breakthrough performance at work.
The working relationship between an employee and his or her boss is unlike any other relationship which exists, and it’s a profound responsibility we managers have in honoring that relationship. However what really gets me fired up is thinking about its true potential, and in 2004 I founded Workplace Aloha School and MWA University to test my theories of positive expectancy while being on “active duty” —serving managers immediately within your workplaces.
You can read more about how we will work together at my Coaching FAQ:

We’ve had a highly successful run these past six years, but you know what? We’ve barely gotten started.
Community connections
Please stay connected, even if you are not ready to hire me or purchase the products I offer you. My web presence is intended to help me live the value of Mahalo (saying thank you), while serving and giving back to the community of those who resonate with my mission and vision as published in Managing with Aloha, Bringing Hawai‘i’s Universal Values to the Art of Business (MWA). Community members regularly discover both personal and professional applications for MWA, and I’m confident you will too.
