Mana‘o on a Virtual Bookshelf
My most precious possessions, not of the human relationship variety, are books. If I were to strip my home and my office of all but the most basic-to-my-life essentials, my books would be the last things left. When I am ready to embark on a trip, two or three books are the very first things I pack to have with me.
I always opt for hard covers, and I write in them extensively, creating my own indexes for them anew each time I devour them. Therefore, my books become quite unique; they capture my mana‘o, my deeply held beliefs polished from near exhaustive tumblings and bruising, gleefully endured in my mental gymnastics.
I print subsequent writings (mine or the authors’) and insert them between the covers, and you can pick out my dog-eared favorites quite easily as they sit on the shelf, because they are those that no longer close that well, their accommodating spines being stretched in an intention of palena ‘ole, unlimited capacity for abundance.
“Pristine” would never be a word used to describe my private library, yet they are far more respected and loved than those you might find elsewhere, exiled into cleanliness and neglect.

This Virtual Bookshelf page will be a work in progress, one I continually add to as my books are mentioned and referenced here at Managing with Aloha Coaching and at Joyful Jubilant Learning. If you wish to remain on this page, right click on the links offered and open them in a new tab or window. Entries at listed by author, alpha by last name, and include a few keywords on what the book covers.
